Science Education Regional Award (new)
SASTA http://www.sasta.asn.auSASTA has the following awards:-
- Satisfac/SASTA Outstanding Teacher Award - for SASTA members only to recognise teachers with outstanding skills in a classroom setting. There are usually 4 awards each year, to Junior Primary, Primary, Middle and Senior.
- Helen Castle Memorial Award - to assist country teachers attend conferences in Adelaide. There are two awards each year.
There are also awards recognising teacher's contribution to SASTA. These are the SASTA Medal, Honour Award and Certificates of Appreciation.
All awards are presented at the SASTA Annual Conference to be held in April each year.

The University of Tasmania Faculty of Science and Engineering offers a prize for Science/Maths Teachers in Secondary Schools and STAT this year presented the inaugural Winifred Curtis Medal for Excellence in Science education. The medal was instigated by STAT in 2006 and is supported by the Uni Science and Engineering faculty.
