Prime Minister’s Science Prizes for Excellence in Science Teaching in Primary and Secondary Schools

In collaboration with the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, The Australian Science Teachers Association supports and promotes these prestigious science teaching prizes as part of its mission to promote the profession and enrich science teaching in Australia.  ASTA is involved in the selection of these prizes with the President of ASTA chairing the selection panel.

2009 Winners
The winners of the 2009 Prime Minister’s Prizes for Excellence in Science Teaching in Primary and Secondary Schools are Allan Whittome from Badgingarra Primary School in Western Australia and Len Altman from Marden Senior College in South Australia.  ASTA joins the rest of the science education community in congratulating Allan and Len on their wonderful achievement that will hopefully inspire teachers across the country.
