2009 ASTA National Science Week teacher resource book 'Astronomy: Science Without Limits'
Each year a National Science Week theme for schools is chosen to assist teachers focus and plan ways to engage students in National Science Week celebrations. The school theme for 2009 is
Astronomy: Science Without Limits. This theme was chosen by ASTA Council to reflect the 2009 International Year of Astronomy.
The 2009 ASTA Teachers Resource Book
Astronomy: Science Without Limits is packed with facts, classroom activities, experiments, photographs, diagrams and websites that explore the amazing science of Astronomy.
Astronomy has been a traditional inclusion in the primary and secondary curricula, with an emphasis on the Solar System and visible features of the celestial sphere such as constellations, 'shooting stars' and some planets. Many resources are available to support the teaching of these concepts so the emphasis in this book is on the many other interesting aspects of Astronomy, which indeed is a science without limits.
An
Astronomy: Science Without Limits Resource Book was sent free to every Australian school as part of the Schools Kit and free to ASTA members (in mid-May 2009). Additional copies can be purchased from ASTA. Download an order form and forward to ASTA for immediate delivery.
