Celebrating the 2012 UN International Year of 'Sustainable Energy for All'
In 2012, ASTA is producing only a digital version of its annual resource book for teachers. It will be:
- freely and easily accessible for anyone with the Internet.
- supported on mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, and Android).
- available for download as a PDF.
- packed with background information, hands-on enquiry-based activities, projects, research and challenges for students including links to websites and other interactives.
- closely linked to the Australian Curriculum: Science F-10.
You will be able to access the resource book from the ASTA and Science Week websites from late May/early June 2012.
National Science Week poster
In May 2012, ASTA will post to every Australian school an A3 Energy Evolution poster. On the rear of the poster will be information about events and activities happening during National Science Week in your state and territory
The artwork for the poster will also be available for download and printing from the Science Week website.
PLEASE NOTE: ASTA will no longer be producing and distributing the National Science Week schools kit to all Australian schools. The resource book will no longer be printed but will available as a digital book.

Activity and Event Ideas for National Science Week
There are many and varied ways that you, your school and your local community can be involved in National Science Week. Here is just a small sample of the many hundreds of activities (that we know about!) that have taken place in Australian schools for National Science Week. They are ‘real-life’ examples and all have been a raging success! You could also plan your activities around the 2012 schools theme ‘Energy Evolution’ by looking at the many experiments and activities in the digital resource book of the same name (available in May 2012). -
