Teaching Science

Teaching Science is the flagship journal of the Australian Science Teachers Association.  It aims to promote the teaching of science in all Australian schools with a focus on classroom practices and contribute to the professional development of teachers of science.

Teaching Science is:
  • a national publication with subscribers throughout Australia and overseas.
  • a quarterly refereed journal of the highest integrity that includes material of interest to ALL sectors of the science education community.

Teaching Science publishes refereed articles contributing to the theory and practice of science education. Teaching Science invites primary and secondary teachers, teacher educators, community-based science education officers, preservice teachers, and others with an interest in improving the quality of science teaching to submit articles. Teaching Science particularly values contributions from teachers who have researched their own classroom practice.  Good writing on any science education issue is welcomed.
